Default brake fluid level sensor float

My brake fluid float (magnetic) in the brake fluid reservoir sank or is stuck. The low brake fluid reed switch is thus constantly actuated. Its a 2003 Impala. How to refloat, unstick or replace the magnetic float? Joe

Removal Procedure
[ol]Disconnect the electrical connector from brake fluid level sensor.

Remove the brake fluid level sensor. Using needle nose pliers, carefully depress the retaining tabs on the end of the brake fluid level sensor(1) and press the sensor through the reservoir to remove. [/ol]
