Just bought a 2008 HHR, it has been wrecked in front, new front clip has been installed. problem is the brake pedal has alot of travel braking system checks out fine. good disc and rear shoes, stops fine, but has long pedal travel. is there a adjustment for this?

 

Might need to have the brakes bled real good. Air in the line will cause those symptoms. Make sure the master cylinder is full of brake fluid.
