Default Camshaft sensor code 41. Can i run what work needs to be done by you?

ok so I got a code 41. So easier said then done. i remove the sensor and test it with ohms right?
0 ohms means its shorted and infinate ohms means its grounding ina a place that shouldnt?

So if it comes out good, I then rotate the engine to find the permanate magnet. if its gone reaplace it and if its still there then i the sensor?
So if I replace the sensor do i have to line up the timing?

I'm to broke to have some one else do this
