Default Chevy Silverado Soft Suspension

I recently purchased a 2005 Chevy Silverado 8.1L, this is my first Chevy and I love it! The suspension is very stiff due to a tow package that it came with. I will be using this vehicle as a daily driver, so I wanted to get everyone's opinion on swapping out the suspension for one that is softer and more reasonable. Does anyone have any suggestions on a brand that would make sense to accomplish this? Thanks in advance!

there is no way around it...a 2500/3500 spring package will ride harsh with no weight in it.

Thanks for the reply. Based on that, is there a different spring package that could be put in?

Thanks for replying. This hadn't crossed my mind. I may try it, but, lower tire pressure = lower MPG, and considering (according to the truck) I am getting AVG MPG 9.2, I may look for another alternative.

Personally, I would not lower tire pressure. That just adds to tire wear and hazards, which could turn fatal. You might want to consider softer riding shocks. Check around some of the truck accessory shops.

the placard probably calls for 65 front and 80 rear....if its empty...there is no need to be that high.
I run 50 all around in my 2500 and have zero abnormal tire wear.

I don't mean going below the minimum printed on the door sticker. There should not be a noticeable drop in economy, and I haven't had any hazards in over a decade. Difference in tire wear would be negligible.
