I don't know what the emmision laws are like where you are at but here in Ontario Canada, removing the converter will not onlyget you a fine and your car impounded if caught, it will cause your vehicle to be a polluting pig so it won't pass an emissions test thus preventing you from renewing your registration

yea unless u get some simulators. u will be getting a fulse fuel air mixture because it will not be bolted into the exhaust. it will prolly tell ur computer that u need more fuel since it will show to much air. so ur mileage will prolly go down. u can get simulators from summit or jegs. u'll be alright here in oklahoma they really don't care much. every truck that i have owned had straight pipes.

The problem is that you will be polluting recklesly- you should not even condsider doing something like that - we all have an obligation to be resposnible.

Isn't it that the catalytic converter restricts the exhaust flow so it means taking it off will maximize the ride's potential. But that is in exchange of air pollution.

You will also lose low end torque because the converter causes back pressure and thats what helps the low end power all you will gain is sound.

I see, so removing the catalytic converter doesn't necessarily mean improved performance. I thought if you remove it it will result to better exhaust flow. Thanks for the correction.
