Default fan speed switch

I have a 2001 Chevy suburban and lately when I have my Fan speed on 1-3 on the heating and cooling controls it does not really blow any air and it only works well on 4 and 5 does anybody know what this might be, or could it just be that I need to replace the switch.

Thanks in Advance

The first thing and maybe the eisest and cheepest thing to look for in an air flow problem is debris in the air box restricting the flow. I have found usually collects around the motor. and if memory serves me correctly your fan motor drops pretty easy out the bottom of the air box, above the passenger side floor board

Do you hear the blower when it is on those speeds?

Default Resistor?

I might be the HVAC blower resistor, mine (malibu maxx 05 v6) blew up 3 months ago and I found one for 25$. I have a 4 speed fan, it was working only on 3 and 4. After removing the resistor, only the last speed was working. so i realize that only 1 resistor on 3 was working in that little module.

Yours should look like this:

The resistor is located under the dash on the right side.
Usually it is screwed in a pipe to get the air that the blower motor is sucking.

Sorry for my bad english
I hope this information helps you.

if you here and air movment with the vehicle sitting still on the speeds in question then it is not the resistor. however if the speeds in question have no air movment then is is almost always the resistor. it is a cheep fix and easy to replace
