Default Fob Only Works When Car is On

Hey everyone,

I just bought a Chevy Captiva from a used car dealer. The dealer did not have the original fob for the car. The dealer purchased me a new fob from a Chevy dealership and sent it over to me. I took the fob into a GMC dealer and had them program the fob for me. The only problem is the fob only works with the car on.

I have confirmed the following:
  • The fob is the correct part number.
  • I have checked the settings on the car, but I do not see anything that would cause this
  • I have tried to use the fob in the car with the car off - nothing
  • I tried the fob outside the car with the car off - nothing
I have an appointment with the Chevy dealership on Monday, however, has anyone had an issue like this before?

Thanks,

Wingless

I wanted to follow up on this post if anyone has the same problem. I took the car to the dealership today. When the car was transported, they pulled the transport fuse. The fuse was not completely back into its slot. It must have been in good enough for the car to run, but not good enough for everything to work.

Hope this saves someone a trip to the dealership.
