Angry Found Bolt in oil

After draining the oil for routine oil change I found a 17mm x 2.5mm bolt laying in the drain tub. This was prior to me removing the filter.
Vehicle is my 2014 Express with 14 000 mi, I'm the original owner
Engine is V8 6l
No noises or odd behavior

The even, blue paint on the threads suggest it has not backed out of a threaded hole. May have fallen in during the assembly. If so, it would have been to large to fit through the screen on the oil pickup. You can also get a manual for your engine and see if there are similar bolts/screws used in the assembly. if there are, you can always go digging into it. Good Luck.

Good point on the thread lock material being in shape that it's in, Chevy place is of little help, just took it in to show documentation what I found in case of future issues.
I'll try looking at some exploded views.....

I can see that some Blue 242 Permatex is on the threads, but it looks like it was never put in place. My bet would on the oil pump cover plate, but it looks a bit to small for that use. Whatever it was for, had to have been a beveled surface so that the bolt would sit flush with the part it was supposed to be holding into place.

looks like it was in there from the factory by the blue on the bolt ! if there is no noise than I wouldn't worry about it !

Thank you
I value everybody's input
Either way it's always nice to know where it came from and potentially know which other part might be missing a bolt.
