Has anyone experienced a situation where the fuel sender in the tank will only float up to a certain level, less then full, even when the tank is full? This causes the gauge to read not full, but reads whatever the float is stuck at. Then when the gas reaches the float level it will then begin to register the decreasing fuel on the gauge.
I am trying to figure out if it is my gauge that is getting stuck at a certain point or could it be the float.

It could also be the float is working correctly, but the sender has a bad spot on it.
