Default fuel pump help

i need a new fuel pump for 1998 k1500 its got the 4.3, it wont build enough pressure, 35 instead of 65. a new pump that goes in the tank is around $260 from every major parts store. i was thinking about getting an inline one to replace it. i found one for $114. it goes up to 65 psi, comes with everything. as far as mounting it, well for me that the easy part. i was gonna use the wiring for the old pump for the new one, will it work?

Probably, since you will have to drop the tank, it might just be the sock filter on the suction side of the pump.

my plan was to leave the stock fuel pump in and not have to drop the tank if im thinking right the inline pump will pull both check ***** in the stock pump to the open position

Only experience I have with an inline pump was replacing a mechanical pump with one.

Recently replace a in tank pump.It was supposed to be 61 to 65 psi and I contacted Delco tech to be sure I was buying the right pump.The only one they offer is one that is 50 psi and told me it was a direct replacement mainly because of the volume spec.I found that Delphi still sells a 61 psi pump.So my point is that a in line pump's spec has to be able to provide the volume spec too and that Delco seems to have fallen back on crossover parts to save money on costs and that Delphi is still offering what I consider the better part.

Now in terms of your in tank pump.I am not completely sure,but I do think you could replace the pump only for about alittle over $100.00.Also,I do not suggest that you use a in line pump drawing threw a dead in tank pump.
