Hi, Im Roy, I have a 1989 Chevy Stepside 5 speed 4x4. On my way home today I stopped at a red light and almost didn't get the truck out of 5th gear. Then upon takeoff I realized I only had 1st gear. When I try to shift into another gear I just get a loud grinding noise. This is the first manual trans I have owned in 15 yrs and never had this problem before. Is there anyone who can help me figure out this problem? I can usually fix just about anything myself. Im just not to good a diagnosing the problem. Thanks in advance

 

You might want to check for cracked sunshell soon for it might cause more damage on transmission.
