Default so....

So let me ask yall this, (this may show my redneck side a little bit) but here is the issue I had a seized caliper mounting bolt in the spindle when I went to take it out I had to drill it out, so now the upper caliper mount were the bolt would go was striped and a little wider, so I rethreaded it but i had to go i size up, so here is my question, can I just by a bolt long enough to fit in throught the caliper to the new threads on the spindle, or do I have to have the sleeve that the bolt rides in, in the caliper mounting whole.

I'd check out RockAuto.com or AutoPartsWarehouse.com. Those are where I get most of my junk from.

As for the caliper, I am not 100% on this, but I believe caliper bolts are of a special design. Therefore you will need to Helicoil the hole.. but wait till someone else pipes in on that one... Actually, they may sell oversized caliper bolts online somewhere... might try Google-ing that..

Screw that! You dont want the bolt backing out or jogging in the slot when you need to brake hard. Get a new steering knuckle(spindle) and before you put it in, replace the ball joints and tie rods, its much easier when the spindle isnt in the way.

If you dont want a dealer, look on Ebay or one of your bigger junkyards(U-pull its). LMCtruck.com also

If the hole has to be re threaded(if that is it) drill it bigger by a helicoil size chart and use the original bolt.If not possible don't mess around with it buy the new/used spindle its not worth a saftey issue/bin there

I agree, go with the Heli-coil and use a factory bolt
