I'm helping a friend restore an old 1966 step van/ice cream truck type thing. it came with a gr3eat running 292 straight 6 engine that we plan to reuse. and I have a single wheel rear end with 4.11 gears that fits the frame perfectly. problem is it also came with a Muncie SM465 4 speed. We want to stick with a manual but not sure what will fit. I know there is the NV-4500 but those are mostly all 4 wheel drive. Can anyone suggest a 5 or 6-speed manual, that would bolt to the engine? cross member doesn't matter I can relocate that and its 2 wheel drive so even a pick-up tranny would be strong enough for our plans. Im just not sure what year or model to look for and junkyards today are no help unless you can give them the exact make, model, year, color, and last 18 of the vin, thanks in advance
