1968 Chevy C10
Hi there everyone, i need some help with my truck
At the moment i have a 4.1 inline 6 in my truck but i have plenty of room under the hood for a bigger engine. I have a 3 speed manual transmission.
My question to you is " if i replace my engine with something bigger am i going to have to replace my tranny as well? if so then do i need to replace my drive train?
Much thanks for the help.

what transmission do you have auto or manual ,unless you are going to drag race i think you will be fine .unless you are going to haul heavy load's i don't foresee having to change the trans or drive line running gear . if you are going to go that far get a bigger truck.

that's one of the nice things bout gm, for most part, the bell housing pattern is the same for most motors. you may have to get a flywheel to fit the bigger motor if by chance the one off the 6 cylinder won't bolt up. otherwise, it's pretty straightforward swap. 305/350, even 454 will bolt in, tho the 454 might tear up the tranny. maybe.
