Question Help oil change

I have a 2015 Chevy Equinox LTZ V6.
I am told it can go 7000 + miles before oil change.

I am from the old school and always changed my oil at 3000-3500 miles.
I do get 4 free changes a year from the dealer (1st year)

Would it be a waste of my money to stick with my "OLD SCHOOL" beliefs
or should I go with the "NEW".? I do my own work on my vehicles.

I have a 1994 Chevy 1500 I bought new and it has 220,000 miles on it. Never any trouble and always changed my oil by the "OLD SCHOOL"

Thanks for the help

Dennis

I am also old school. I would rather change it more often and get longer life out of the engine. It is well worth the money. I change my oil at 4,000 miles with the factory recommending 7,000 miles.
