How to remove junction box cover on Suburban??

How to remove junction box cover on Suburban??
I have a 2002 Suburban with a trailer brake controller installed. id like to uninstall the controller which plugs into junction box below the dash to the left of steering column. there is one plastic nut to remove, then supposedly the cover comes off.. but it doesnt... cant find clips. what is holding it on? how to i get it off?
