Default Inspection

This question is for a 1988 toyota supra. I know in NC we only have to do a safty inspection, but my car has a EGR block off when I replaced the motor it did not come with an EGR, and the other was bad so I just blocked it off. When they safty inspect it will it pass or fail with out a EGR? Also do they even go under the hood for a safty inspection? Basicly what is all covered in a safty inspection?

I asked a friend and he said that the safety indpection mostly refers to the vehicle itself. examples...headlights,turn signals, horn, seat belt. But thats just what he told me..

I hope it is like this. That would be great, also what if a warning lamp is on.

Here in Ontario, Canada, we only go under the hood to check brake fluid, make sure battery is tight, and make sure belt isn't about to break. The car can run like a bag of crap and it will still pass a safety
