Default Instrument Cluster Frozen??

Hello all, my instrument cluster has stopped working. (Digital readout, lights, gauges, etc.) Only a strange panel of symbols. It has done this intermittently in the past when the temperature outside dips below freezing, but only for 1/2 hour or so, then everything comes back to normal.

This time, it's going on day 3, with no signs of recovering.

It's a 2004 Suburban, 4wd.

Any ideas as to the culprit?

Thanks, Luke.

it needs a cluster. they did have extended warranty but your probably past even that....think it was 10years coverage. there is a site sponsor here that rebuilds/replaces clusters. D & d instruments….usually in the right advertisement column

You don't need a cluster. There are many places that can fix yours. Cheaper than replacement and your don't loose mileage and VIN info. Check out the cluster repair threads. Dorman clusters are poorly made and I would fix mine vs buy one of those. BUT I guess by now you have already handled it.
