Default looking for tips

i have an 86 chevy stepside with the 4.3l im looking to replace it with a 307 small block i was wondering if the motor mounts and tranny from the 4.3 whould bolt to the 307 andd help whould be helpfull thank you

is the 307 a chevrolet motor or a bop motor. Best idea is to find a 305 HO from that time it would have better torque and it should actually drop right in.

its a chevy 307.. im just really low on cash thats why i was asking its an old penn dot truck and the 4.3 is getting tired

Oh gotcha yea its hard to say then I never had to much expierience with the 307, wish I could help more. give it a bit someone else should hopefully give you better direction.

Why not just put a 350 in it? Price about the same. WAY more power. Same outside demensions.

If you already have the 307 then go that route. It should just bolt right up.
The wiring may be a little different but I'm sure you can figure it out.

The wiring is going to be your biggest problem, no matter wich motor you choose to go with.

If you are going to go motor shopping, try to get one frm the same year of donor vehicle.

305 and 307's are dogs. 307 is a 283 with a 327 stroke. Made for grandpas. 195 HP
