Default Mass air flow

My wifes uncle has a 1999 chevy crew cab with a 454. The engine light is on and when you first start it it shuts off and at times when at idle it shuts off.He had it scanned and it gave a code for mass air flow senser,it was changed and still no better. He went back to advanced and got a "better one" no change. He was told it could be the cam senser and changed that, still the same. He doesnt know where to go from here any help would be appreciated. He did have the code cleared with the scanner every time but it comes back on. Thanks.

Check the harness where it plugs into the sensor.
alot of times the terminals don't make a good conection.
If it is good you need to check the harness @ the other end at the ECM.
Then you need to ohm it if the code is still coming back after a new sensor was installed.(the harness to make sure it is ok)

Sorry, I have not been on here for a while and forgot to post that the problem was solved some time ago. The eng1 fuse was missing. He just bought the truck and why the light didnt come on sooner, like during the test drive we dont understand but it didnt and why someone took it out, we believe it was taken by mistake because its beside the spare fuse.Anyway thanks for the advice. It is appreciated....Thanks.
