Default Mass air flow, cat converter?

I need some help! My car is running rough, sputters while driving, sluggish acceleration, rpms SEEM higher (maybe I didn't pay attention before) and now abt 30-40 while accelerating the rpms stop abt 2000 but speedometer slowly creeps up. If I floor the gas then he rpms jump up. I've been to auto shop and dealership and no one can pinpoint the issue(s). I've heard everything from mass air flow sensor (so I cleaned it with mass air flow cleaner), EGR (so cleaned that), vac leak (replaced one collapsed hose and putting on pcv tonight), coils, cat converter, shift solenoid in tranny.
Did plugs and wires last year, new fuel filter last week. I have no check engine light on. My car is running lean. This is an 03 Malibu LS, 193,000 miles. I don't know what my next step is to replace. Gonna have tranny checked this week but tired of paying for diagnosis when I'm getting no answers!

Is your cat converter glowing red at night from being too hot? It might be plugged up.

Actually I don't know. I haven't even heard to check and I don't drive much at night but I'll make note to check it out. Thanks!

Well cat doesn't seem to glow red and I replaced mass air flow, tps kicked a code so I replaced that as well. Still isn't right. Crankshaft sensor? I was told with readings on scanner from advance yesterday that it might be going bad. Ideas?
