Default My wheel beet my truck to the stop sign

Hey everyone. New to the board. Just a little background on me. im 17, just bought my second truck. i have a 1992 v6 4x4 isuzu pup made by GM, and a 74 4x4 chevy stepside on 33s.

So, to cut to the chase of my mechanical worries. last night i watched my back left tire beat me to a stop sign. from what i can tell the man who sold me the truck a few weeks ago had after market rims and didnt use acorn lugs to button it up, and the to-small lugs pulled through the rim. When the drum hit the ground it FUBAR'd the studs and tore bigger holes in the rim.

so i have new lugs and studs, about to beat the old ones out and slap the new studs on. is using washers between the lugs and the rim a safe enough solution to drive the SOB to and from school till i can find a 6 lug rim wide enough for the 33in mud meats? i kinda need to drive so i can make it to school.

Thanks in advance guys for the help

The 74 has smaller lugs than the newer ones do, I wouldn't trust washers because they won't allow the taper of the lug nut to seat correctly. How wide are the 33's you have? If they are 12.5 then you could go to a junk yard and find some standard wheels for now.
