im not very car savy. i need some help. i have a 2000 gmc jimmy and my drivers side front window will not roll up or down. there is no sound even when i press the button to roll it up or down. does anyone know if it would be the window motor or the regulator.

also the other windows roll up and down from the drivers control. the window lock setting is not turned on. why would the passengers windows not work with their own buttons?

that drivers window controller has all the power that goes out to the other motors it is most likely that your controller on the door has gone bad this is common. the easiest way to test it is to get a power probe and power the other windows manually from there controller if the window goes up and down move to the drivers controller and do the same thing if it works you have a bad controller if not you have a power/ground problem.

pull the rubber boot from in the drivers door jamb and look for broken wires

 

the motor for the window may have craped out as well
