My chevy v-8 5.3 truck started making a knock/loud ticking noise after pulling a small trailer. The ticking is louder under neath the engine by the oil filter. It doesn't tick all the time usually about 10 min after start up and it won't last long just a couple of min. I can ref up the engine and the tick will fade away and everything sounds normal. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Thanks. It has 160,000 miles

 

I also have developed and intermitent tick. 2003 5.3 flexfuel with 220k miles. Could be the same issue. Maybe someone will chime in.
