I have a chevy trailblazer ls 4x4 6cyl I took it to the shop for an oil change and the tech
Said that my transmission is leaking fuil, he then looked at it and took a plug out put his finger in the resivor and said oil is dripping in it. He stated that he needs to change two
Gaskets and w labor I'm looking at 900 dollars.

What parts is he talking about and also is this a fair price???

Welcome to the forum. You don't say what year but it sounds like you're describing a transmission fluid leak from the bell housing (torque converter seal failure?). If so, $900 isn't out of the question. You may want to get a second opinion from a transmission shop, though.

 

Always get a second opinion in this type of situation. Do you trust this shop? Have you been there before? What reservoir did he take the plug out of?

 

its a 03 trailblazer chevy model LS and the plug was a silver plug from a resevor. All he said was its going to run 900 to install 24 dollars worth of parts which he said were gaskets. So its mostly labor in the price. The leak is not that bad it leaks a little. The shop
Is meineke I find them pretty costly.

 

would have a better idea if you remembered which gaskets he said...
