Hey guys, was hoping someone with some electrical experience could help me make sense of this wiring schematic I've got here. I've had an aftermarket air horn hooked up instead of my regular horn for a few months, but the compressor went so I purchased a replacement system. I currently have the compressor hooked up directly from the two horn wires into the positive and negative terminals on the compressor, but this new setup requires a relay and fuse.
Here's how I have the wiring right now...
The OEM horn wires (in black tube) were spliced and redirected to the horn (red and green wires going to the left).
Here's the schematic for the new horn setup....
My question is, which of these two wires from the existing horn do I connect to the 86 terminal on the relay, do I have to splice this same wire to the chassis to ground it as well? Then, what do I do with the second wire? I don't know if it is supposed to go to or come from the battery.
Next, the 30 terminal on the relay goes to the 30A in-line fuse, but where do I connect the other end of this wire, I'm also confused how to connect this to the battery or If I can use one of the original two horn wires.
I've got the entire relay setup built and ready to connect to the compressor I just don't know where the circuit starts and ends. Any help would be appreciated!

Wire 86 goes to the horn button, I do not see that in your diagram. The horn button supplies a ground to the relay to close the circuit to sound the horn. I would hook up everything else and tap a wire from 86 to a good ground for a second and see if the compressor turns on.

Can I complete the setup as per the diagram using just the two original horn wires? I'm not sure which one of the wires is which, this is my first electrical attempt and it's been mostly trial and error.I hooked everything up and grounded 86 to the frame, but didn't get any response from the compressor. I know it works by just hooking the two said wires to the positive and negative of the compressor, it just blows the fuse.
Alternatively, could I simply hook the two horn wires to the positive and negative on the compressor, and wire a 30 amp fuse in-line on the positive wire to avoid it blowing the OEM horn's 15 amp fuse?
