I'm having the intake gasket replaced on my 03 Impala. Any other parts that should be replaced while they have it taken apart? Water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc...?

i'd replace the thermostat since ur already goin to be there. if ur hoses don't seem to be cracked orbreaking downthey will prolly be fine. i have seen on many vehicles after u replaced the intake gasket for them leaking the extra pressure will cause a worn water pump to start leaking. so it might not be a bad idea to do that as well.

Also, I've seen a lot of disussion about which gasket to buy. Any comments on the replacement gasket? Should I use the FelPro MS98003T PermaDryPlus kit?

 

i agree with john86. since you are already there and if you have the finances i'd do that too.

 

i'd use the new updated GM gaskets. i haven't seen neproblems from using them with gaskets leakings after i've replaced them.
