Angry No signal to starter?

1996 Cavalier 4sd manual OHv engine. I put in new battery because car will not start or crank. Put on tester at auto zone and we determined no signal to starter. I am not familiar with this car so don't know where to start. Can anyone shed any light on this? Battery cables check out, so do fuses. May be a relay or ignition switch?

If I understand it right, you're not getting any voltage on the starter solenoid with the clutch pedal depressed and key in start? There's a switch on the clutch pedal that's closed when the pedal is depressed. Unplug the electrical connector and verify the power on one of the wires with the key in start. If there is power, the problem is either the switch or wiring between it and the starter solenoid. If not, the problem is upstream towards the ignition switch.
