Please educate me on glass pack options....
I understand the principles of how glass pack mufflers work, but customers often ask me about what their options are for “upgrading” to glass packs.
Having never been someone that’s into mods (performance or otherwise), I really just don’t know what’s out there or how they measure up in cost vs. quality. I always figured when it comes to aftermarket parts there are a few well established names but for the most part it’s “today’s top shelf is tomorrow’s bargain basement.”
I don’t have time to do extensive research, so I’m asking for some answers/experiences with glass packs so I’m at least a little better equipped to answer questions for my customers. I have been asked the following questions and haven’t been able to answer them.
1) Are there any quality brands, specifically when it comes to durability/longevity?
2) Are there different sound “levels” among glass packs, meaning are some louder or softer than others?
3) Are some manufacturers better for trucks and others for cars? What about diesel vs. gas engines?
Any other tips/advice/insight is appreciated. Thanks.
