Radio/electrical problem
My 2013 Camaro 2LS 50K miles radio and screen goes off and on, speakers crackle, HVAC indicator lights flicker. This only happens when the engine is running; not when the ignition is just in running these functions. My dealer also told me that all works fine when they disconnected the alternator and the engine is running. My dealer changed out the HVAC control head (screen), and body control module, all recommended by GMs technical assistance center (TAC). Nothing fixed the problem. Another dealer plugged in a used radio, and said it didnt resolve the problem either. Ive been interacting with GM and the dealer general manager with this for eight months now. My concern is that GM has been no help. During my last communication with their executive referral rep, they basically stated that there must be some type of electrical problem; that its my responsibility, and any further work is totally on me cost wise. (The dealer has covered parts so far.) In researching this issue, I not only found many Camaro owners with this problem noting various fixes, but most recently I heard of a Tahoe owner having a similar problem. The dealer couldnt find the problem so they traded it in for a newer Chevy. I cant believe that GM cant find and fix this problem. That instead of getting to the bottom of it, they say its your problem or just give you a customer loyalty certificate towards a new car. Im going to continue to pursue this with the dealer for now. Does anyone have any thoughts about GMs lack of interest or support with this?
