Default SBC Hesitates/misses when warm

Have a 350 with Edelbrock performer carb. Having issues when engine is at operating temp. It hesitates and misses at slower speeds and when accelerating. Put oil filled fuel pressure gauge and says 6lbs when cold but 1lb when warm. Just installed the gauge and some people say they give bad readings when warm....timing is good, just started a few months ago and drive it once a week or so. I have an old Jeep with Chevy drive line etc. basically everything is either Chevy or edelbrock with only 3k miles. It is all new. What else would cause this? I did take off the gas cap to make sure there wasn’t too much vacuum in tank but didn’t make any difference. It runs great when getting up to temp but bad once there. Any help would be appreciated.

Ok, is this an electric fuel pump with pressure regulator, or mechanical? Is it an electric choke, or mechanical?

it’s a mechanical Edelbrock fuel pump.

Is the choke opening with temp? You should be able to watch it open when running as it warms up.

I’ll check it. Just had a guy adjust the carb 6 months ago and didn’t think it would be the carb. Thank you so much!

The choke is full open at temp. Wrapped fuel pressure gauge in cold wet towel and it showed proper fuel pressure, 5.5. When idling at temp it drops a few hundred RPMs for a sec then comes back up. Don’t think it’s a fuel issue as I also removed gas cap relieving tank vacuum. It’s a new prob so fuel isn’t getting too hot. Any other ideas?

Re-visit the fuel line, has anything changed since this issue? It could be vapor lock. If you have a fuel line with sharp bends, and or routed close to a heat source, it could be vapor lock issue. Is this a distributor, electronic ignition?

Turns out the Edelbrock carb was trashed. Switched it out for a new Holley Warrior and runs better than ever. Now the problem is the 700r4 Is shifting great at light throttle but when you get on it it shifts too soon out of 2nd. TV cable is super tight at WOT and all the geometry is the same. Any ideas? Can you have the TV cable too tight? It is in the correct holes per Holley.
