ok so this is my second set of door pins im ready to put on.
I first wanted to check the pin and bushing fitting and noticed theres a slight wiggle. It had plastic bushings before and some were still good and fit tight but i took them out any way.

no, it should not wiggle.
use brass bushings not plastic

 

79 chevy c20.
when i slide the bushing over the pin and tilt it. the bushing slides up and down. also has a slight wiggle.
the old bushings fit really snug and you have to slide them by hand.

 

also the last set i tried and didnt work. the spines wouldnt hammer in to the bushing

 

I don't understand. If the bushings were good and fit tight, why did you take them out? If the spines or splines wouldn't fit into the bushings, you have the wrong sizes. They are not supposed to be hammered into the bushing.
