51,000 miles, non turbo 1.8L
Almost every time I shift from 1st to 2nd, the car "Bogs down". Unless I really finesse it and am shifting below 2000rpm...
If I put the gas pedal down really far just as I shift to second, it has a little stutter and tries to bog, and it is a little jerky, then the engine lags and revs up.
I have searched around, but I can't seem to find the proper term for the "bog down" or "near-stall" when going into second and most of what I have found is "Auto tranny" or "hard to shift" but it shifts really good.
Motor mounts?
Clutch?
I have driven stick all of my life from some really low HP cars to really high HP cars (300+). This Sonic is the first car to have this annoying 1st to 2nd shift problem...
Any help would be appreciated
