I have a 57 chev,235,4speed pick-up,would I get a smoother ride if I were to remove one or two leafs from each spring, always on pavement and never loaded.Herb.

Yes, you can do that...

The shorter leaves make for a more firm ride.
But, when you remove one/more, you increase pressure on the middle area of the longer ones. So, don't be too aggressive with that, and of course you'll need to have shorter center bolts to hold them together.
Also, they make "adjustable" shocks. They have a ****/setting, where you can adjust the firmness if you want to go to that expense. That might be a way to go before you start working on the springs.
