starting problem
i have a 2001 silveraldo 2500 hd 8.1 liter motor
when i go to start truck when motor is cold it will turn over allot before starting but if i let it turn over 4 or 5 times the shut key off all the way then turn back on it starts right away, and will start great anytime while i use the truck on errands, just hard to start when motor is cold, truck runs great while running, no issues, my mechanic can't find problem, nothing comes on dash lights to say anything so he can't code it
any help would be great
thanks
steve

try turning the key to the on position for a few seconds before you actually start it. if it starts rite up you may be short on fuel pressure. possibly the fuel pump getting week or the fuel pressure regulator.
