Default steering rattle

i have a 2002 chevy silverado and a 2002 chevy trailblazer, andmy brother has a 2002 silverado. my question is that all 3 of these vehicals have a rattle in what sounds like the steering column. someone once told me that it is a steer pack problem thank you

You will have a very slight "rattle", more of a vibration than a sound. Most people never notice it and its not a problem... that is, unless its very audible.

It was a problem in 2000-07' chevy trucks and suvs. The steering colum shaft rattles cause it looses all the grease in it. Don't bring it to the dealership they do nothing but take it out and move it around to get the grease back in it then it comes back a couple months later. There is a replacement shaft for it. I believe it's about $270. They say it's real easy to do and only takes about 30 mins. I don't remember the site right now it was in my four wheeler mag. When i find the site for it i'll post it. They say the replacement is MUCH better then the stock. They said it's much stronger and you can see the superior build quality.
