Default Svc Traction Control Lgt & Rough Shift

My Mrs. was being cute and shifted our 06 Impala into neutral from 60mph while coasting down a long hill. (She was trying to impress me with the great mileage!!!) At the bottom of the hill and at a speed of about 45mph she accidentally shifted into rev, instead of drive.... Oh boy.... The engine died. No loud clunks or strange noise, it just shut off. Well, we coasted to a stop and the engine restarted and shifted into drive with no problem, but within 100 yards the "Service Traction Control" service message and light came on. The car shifts through all gears, including reverse properly, but the shift from 1st to 2nd seems very harsh.

Does any one have any experience with this, or any idea what damage she may have inflicted? Obviously a trip to the mechanic is in order, but I am a little afraid of what he is going to find, and I wonder about driving the car this weekend.

Any assistance from anyone would be appreciated. (Other than suggestions on what to do to my wife.)

Thank you!!!!
