Default transmission issues

Hi all
just brought my first project. A 1974 chevy Nova. Im. Copletly new to american classics. So here it goes
transmission i currently have reverse but does not want to go into drive. Its a 350 small block with 3speed box that has sat for in storage for 30 odd years. Any ideas as to wether this is the trans or the torque exchanger. Any thoughts

If it is original transmission, with what you describe it is a turbo 350, if it will only in reverse, you will have to replace the transmission. Said that, if the linkage etc. is correct, the transmission will only go in reverse.
