Im not the best with automatic trannys but i had a friends that drove a 86 jimmy and his linkage got really loose and he had to fight it to get i into park and the pin was way off on the gears check the linkage that could be what it is or at least a good place to start

Sounds like the forward clutch pack is stuck on. If you have had a leak recently and have been adding fluid every so often, it could have gotten low enough to overheat and basically weld the forward clutches together. If park works, but when you rev the engine- if it feels like it's trying to go forward in park, it's an internal trans problem. Good luck
