Default Trouble code

Hi. Hope someone can help. I have a 2000 Suburban with a trouble code P0466. When I was checking the evap system I noticed fuel tank seemed to be collapsed. I installed a Purge valve. It did not help. Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum. P0466 means EVAP Vent Control Malfunction. Vacuum was present in the fuel tank with the vent solenoid commanded open. It's designed to detect a restriction in the vent solenoid, filter, hose, or EVAP canister. It has nothing to do with the purge valve.

Thank you for the quick reply. Purge valve is what the parts dept. called it. I was told the part was the most common fix for this code P0466. Anyway it did not fix the problem. ????????

The parts person must've been having a bad day. Could've just said EVAP problems aren't easy to diagnose without the proper equipment which is true. Anyway, search for P0466 (or PO466 as some call it) on this website for some common suggestions.
