I was told that at some point GM upgraded the spider fuel delivery system on early 2002 Vortec V8 engines to correct some problem in the initial design.

Wondering if this is true? If so, what is the new part number and is it still available? How difficult is it to replace the spider on a full size 5.7V8 van?

Most times the spider delivery doesn't go bad unless it's been messed with or bad gas. But no they are the same system as the original vortec. And they are a pain in the but to get right after replacing.
