I purchased some summit vortec heads for a SBC. After getting the heads I noticed the casting wasn't completely smooth in the valve chamber. I've posted a picture. I'm wonder if it would be to my benefit to do a little machining to make these a little smoother so the airflow won't have so many edges to get around.

 

generally casting isn't all that smooth in the valve chamber. wouldn't worry to much about it.
