My water pump started leaking in my 92 lesabre. Cant tell where its comming from running. cant see the wheep hole behind the pulley. So I tok it off and to me it looks likejust the gasket.
There is some rust on the gasket its self and the bolts where that sport is are completely rusted.
But I need asurence, I ont wan to have to find out its my pump later by just replacing the gasket. But I also dont want to fork out $40 bucks for something I dont need.
What do you think?

 

It's really rare that you have a problem with the Gasket.
Given the trouble of removal, I'd go ahead and replace the Pump and Fasteners too.

Then, regardless of what the problem really was, you're done.

 

I agree with Houston, time IS money. Replace both.
