what can you do to a Tired GM Performance HT 383 Stroker motor
HI guy's,
I Purchased the GM Performance HT 383 Stroker Crate motor (Part #19332529) for my 1995 Chevy Z-71 Sports side 4x4. I upgraded the TBI to the Holly TBI replacement and also had to purchase the Edelbrock TBI manifold. and put on a set of Headman Headers. The motor has performed pretty good, I have had it into my truck for about 7 yrs. now with about 70K miles on it. What i would like to know is if the motor is too worn to replace the Top End. if not, then can you port and polish the Vortex heads, to get them to an aftermarket style flow, or just purchase the Fast burn heads, or another aftermarket heads, and go with a bit better Camshaft...... i would be willing to spend up to say 2,500 for parts. just don't know if i should stay with GM and maybe purchase the top end components on their GM Performance SP 383 Stroker Crate build (Part #19332532) (Heads, Camshaft, intake).... can you run a TBI on a Duel Plane type intake?
Thanks.
