Default What rear end?

Hello, I am new to this forum. I have a question, my son has purchased a custom truck build. It is a pre-runner build that a friend of mine started a while back, About 3 months ago his truck was towed and the rear end was destroyed!
The truck has been forced to sit until I have time to work on getting things fixed. The first step was the check RPO codes and get a junkyard rear assembly. Here is where things get interesting and I end up here. The RPO code states the truck has 3:73 gears
I get one and take it home, and right away I can tell this is wrong. Next, I check the VIN on the dash. What do you know the VIN is different, this leads me to a VIN check again. This time the gears are 3:42. So, I decided to check what is actually in the vehicle. The ring gear is stamped 4:10...
I give the past owner a call, the truck was bought as a doner for the build, and at some point someone must have put a different frame under the body. The junkyard is having trouble coming up with something to help me. I thought I could post pictures here, someone could tell me what dam rear end we have. I just want to get this thing moving before other things start going bad. Thanks in advance!

if it rotates normally count the drivershaft turns to one tire rotation. other options r 2 remove the diff cover and count the crown and pinion teeth.

This is what I found when rebuilding my rear end. Mine was the GU6 as it states in the owners manual and you have to match up what the ratio is to what is on the left. So if you have 4.10 it would match to the GT5 or GT8. This link https://chevytrucks.org/ you are able to find your owners manual for general GP as well as using the Chevy vin decoder https://chevroletforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php in the equipment tab to find what should be in your vehicle.

You will want to look for the "tech specs" or For your gear ratio and to find your actual rear end, I believe I found it stamped on the inside of the glove box and there should be codes. Use the picture I attached and match up your rear end to the ratio of your "rear end" that should or shouldn't be in it. As you can see what mine has or should have from factory. (it does) Hope this helps.
