Default What is this sensor

I have a 1951 Chevy 3200 5-window pickup with a 1980 Chevrolet 305 engine from a C10. There is a sensor on the top front of the intake manifold with a wire running to it, which I can't identify. Can you please help identify what this is. The wire runs past the back of the engine and is as I recall blue. The sensor has about a 3/4" wrench size for screwing in to manifold, and a 3/8" nut holding wire terminal on to top. Sensor is to left of the thermostat, so I thought it may be a water temperature sensor, but not sure.
