Cool Wierd Smell From Heater Need Help

I just bought this awd 2003 express and I am getting a pretty strong odor which smells like cat urine when i turn on the heater. Does anybody have and clues as to where it could be coming from?

Perhaps a cat crawled into the heat vent and died?
Your HVAC drip line might be clogged (the one that leaves a puddle on the ground with the A/C running in the summer). If it is, that can allow mold & mildew to form. Look for the hose from under the truck and poke it out with a straightened coat hanger with a little hook on the end.

quadzila Welcome to the forum...
I think Camaro 69 has you on the right path.... you might also try flushing the windshield and cowl area with water to help flush out any stagnate water and possibly animal pee... Yeah it happens, if you have cats in your neighborhood, they can climb on your vehicle for the warmth...
