the wiper blades on my minivan when turned off are straight up rather than folded down. When using the intermiten wipers they stop folded down. Once it corrected itself but the next time they were turned on it went back to the straight up postion. What's going on?

it's a 2001 venture minivan.

 

In the secondpic it is showing a measurement on a tab that comes up from the bottom. make sure that tab isn't boke or bent in any way. You can see the location a bit better in the first pic. If that tab isn't broken, the problem will be in the wiper motor crank arm. Which is the part with the spring on it with the bolt going through the center of it in pic 1.
