Engine swap
My 2008 HHR jump time and the engine grenade itself so I purchased a 2007 engine from a cobalt. The cobalt engine is a 2.2 and its code is Le5. My 2008 AHR had L61. I have the engine in and everything is hooked up. Everything went flawlessly. However, the engine will not run and as for doing some research I found out that there’s possibly a problem with the reluctor wheel.. has anyone on here ran into this issue is there a tuning fix or will I have to pull the engine out and change the reluctor wheels or will that even work?
I kinda went all out on this engine swap. I’ve already changed the cam chain head gasket went through the bottom end. I was told by the salvage yard computer system. This engine was a direct fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone I asked and the computer at the salvage yard said that any 2007 or 2008 would work.
pre 2007 the cam sensor was different and 2009 and newer had vvt
the ecu has the same part numbers and I’ve double checked everything used sensors from both engines still the same result

I have hp tuner and should be able to tune it but what I’m asking is if that’s possible before I go down a rabbit hole or should I just pull the engine and change out the reluctor. I know what a ecu is I’m 42 and been doing this for 25 plus years and I’ve completed many engine swaps with out any issues like this. however this is my first ecotec and I came here for some logical answers not sarcasm and ridicule. I guess this was a mistake like before I’ll figure it out on my own.
no sarcasm or ridicule intended.
But when if you leave our critical information or steps then I have to assume that you just don't know.
Maybe you can explain to me then, how you are going to flash the ECM/PCM with software that is compatible with an engine from one vehicle, but everything else from another? That sounds like custom coding, which is an extremely deep rabbit hole is it not?
