Default 01 Impala not starting

I have a 2001 Impala, and I started it up the other day, shut it off, went to re-start it, and it won't start. I turn the key, and nothing happens. I can jump the starter solenoid, it'll start and run, but once I turn it off, it won't start. I checked the fuses, all good, I need to find the starter relay, but I don't think that is the problem. If anybody has an idea what to look for, please let me know. I think that this is a common problem, and I vaguely remember something like this happening once before, but I can't remember what it was, and what I did to fix it. Thanks for any help. Kevin

Do you have a aftermarket alarm or remote starter installed on it? The starer relay is in the underhood relay and fuse box and should be labeled on the lid. You can try changing it out with the horn relay or others to check it.

Has the starter been "dragging" prior to this? I now am having starter drag occasionally, Saturday I had one instance that it didn't crank. This tells me starter solenoid. 96 lumina

It is the factory alarm/security system, I am missing the cover panel for one of the fuse boxes under the hood, so the relay is probably in the one with the cover missing. Is there a electrical schematic online that I can access? Thanks for the reply, K

No, the starter hasn't been a problem at all, it is just strange that all of a sudden, it started, and two minutes later it wouldn't turn over with the key. As I said, I can jump the solenoid and it starts, but, the key doesn't do a thing to start it. If you can think of anything else, please let me know, thanks for your help, K

Possibly the key switch or the wire going to the solenoid.
